Coaching Information and Courses


PEI Soccer is joining the Responsible Coaching Movement. 

The first step towards this is the Youth league requires all people on the bench(U11 & up) to take the Respect in Sport ethical training for Activity Leaders.  
Coaching standards are, that all coaches take a soccer specific course and making ethical decisions.

PEI Soccer is offering the Community Coaching Courses for 2021. 
To register please email Jonathan Vos and state which course you would like to take.

The following courses are offered

  • U13 and Up, Soccer For Life
  • U11-U13, Learning to Train
  • U7-U9, FUNdamentals
  • U5-U6, Active Start

There is no charge for coaches that are members of the PEI Soccer Association.
Each course will be split into two components.

  1. Theory - Online(google classroom)
  2. Practical - On field (to be delivered in May 2021)

Practical, on field dates(coaches must attend all sessions to be fully trained):

  • U13 and Up, Soccer For Life  - May 3rd 6:30-8pm  & May 7th 6-8pm @ UPEI turf field
  • U11-U13, Learning to Train - May 11th 7:30-9pm @Norton Diamond Indoor Complex, & May 13th 6:00-7:30pm @Norton Diamond Indoor Complex(Stratford).
  • U7-U9, FUNdamentals - May 19th 6:30-8pm @Norton Diamond Indoor Complex

Coaches will work at their own pace to complete the online modules but must be complete prior to on field sessions.  PEI Soccer staff will support the coaches with any questions or concerns as they make their way through the modules.   PEI Soccer staff will run the practical on field sessions once it is possible, the on field sessions will be in a central location.
